Database Encryption
The Database Encryption tool is accessed by clicking on Setup/Database Encryption from the main menu.
TRAK now allows the client's identifying information in the database to be encrypted. Without access to the password, the data in the database can not be viewed.
Note: Click here to see a list of which data may be encrypted in TRAK.

The Database Encryption Status section gives information on whether the database is encrypted, and what percentage is so.
| Notes: | The database may be less than 100% encrypted if data has been imported to the database by a 3rd party tool. |
The password is required to be at least 8 characters long and contain each of the following: a numeric character, an upper case character, and a lower case character. It may contain spaces as well.
| Warning: | Data can not be recovered if the password is lost. |
Depending upon the encryption status of the database, there are four actions that may be taken to alter the database's encryption status:
This will encrypt the identification fields in the TRAK database. This option is available if the database is not encrypted.
This will decrypt an encrypted database. This option is available if the database is encrypted.
This will change the password of an encrypted database. This option is available if the database is encrypted.
If data was imported using a 3rd party tool, this option allows the unencrypted records to be encrypted.
